DC Asylum presents “Fly those Friendless Skies” (Scene One)

Because everyone now has the right to “Affordable Air Travel”, and a Public Option has now been introduced, let’s see how it has worked out for John Q as he takes his family on their vacation to a Florida theme park.

(John Q):  Yes, We would like to check in and confirm our tickets.

(Gate Keeper):  Oh, check in will be no problem – everyone now has access to the new Open Seating Policy.  Here’s your tickets sir.

(John Q):  Wait, these are for next week!

(Gate Keeper):  Yes sir – everyone now has to wait their turn.

(John Q):  But my vacation will be over next week.

(Gate Keeper):  Yes sir, but the Regional Prioritization Committee reviewed your travel plans and feel you have already had many productive vacations with your family & the limited number of seats need to be given to those who still have many vacation opportunities to enjoy.

(John Q):  Wait – I voted for the Democrats because they promised there would be no rationing.

(Gate Keeper):  Sir – this is not rationing – this is simply prioritization based off of comprehensive vacation actuary tables.

Well, we’ve been told the public option has no rationing, but remember, whoever controls the language, controls the argument.

  1. But, but, I voted Democrat! Ha ha!

So many lies, you could write enough of these to fill a library!

  2. That rss page on your website here is splendid, you should tell more folks about it in your next post. I haven’t noticed it for the first couple of times, now I’m using it each morning to check on any updates. I’m on a real slow dial-up link in Kentucky and it’s quite daunting to sit there and wait for such a long time ’til the page loads… but hey, I just found your rss page and added it to the Google Reader and there you are… I’m always up-to-date! Well buddy, keep up the good work and make that rss button a little bigger so that other people can enjoy that as well 😛
